Teresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Board-Certified Music Therapist. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual (CCTSI), a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC). Teresa has over 20 years of experience in a variety of mental health settings, providing counseling in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric centers, the public schools, medical centers, community mental health, forensic settings, and the Veterans Administration. These diverse experiences have given her deep insight into the human condition and taught her everyone’s story is important.

Teresa recognizes feelings of depression, fear, anxiety, confusion, anger, grief, trauma, and other struggles beset us all at times. She understands that an environment where people can feel safe and heard is vital, and cultivates a therapeutic alliance to be alongside individuals as a nonjudgmental support in their journey to wholeness and independence.

Teresa listens to clients' unique needs and preferences and utilizes an eclectic and integrated approach to working with the whole person. With empathy and compassion, she also asks challenging questions to explore ideas, new ways of thinking and understanding, and guide intuitive discovery in the process of creating the meaningful, sustainable change you desire and helping you arrive at your own destination.

Teresa enjoys working with people of all ages, cultures, backgrounds, and sexualities. She believes in collaborating with each individual to recognize and utilize their innate strengths and abilities to find their own path to healing and quality of life. Her training and experiences have centered on working with those who have experienced emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as well as other forms of trauma, assisting others with depression, managing stress and anxiety, addressing life transitions, and navigating the challenges of emotional and psychiatric disorders. Additionally, she provides couples counseling and family therapy sessions.
