Becky Kim is an LAPC (Licensed Associate Professional Counselor) working with individuals & couples.
ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) is the basis of Becky’s approach to counseling, in order to increase awareness and allowance of feelings and thoughts. She focuses on her client’s priorities and on enhancing psychological flexibility to strengthen her client’s behaviors in the direction of their values, while developing mindfulness and self-compassion. She provides a supportive, respectful, and empowering presence to connect with the joy and frustration of emotions which everyone experiences.
Early adulthood & life transitions can be especially challenging to navigate alone, so college students & adults are a special area of focus for Becky. She also has a devotion to working with pregnant mothers, new parents, and those who have lost children, and welcomes clients of all religious and cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
Becky enjoys living in the country outside of Athens with her husband, kids, dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. She enjoys sci-fi, cooking & baking, sewing for fun, and the tension of maintaining balance in life.
Becky graduated from Brenau University with her Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology (2018) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia (2001). Between degree programs, Becky founded and co-owned a wedding flower business near Athens.
